Ensure Smooth Insurance Claims During Eid Homecoming by Not Overlooking These Matters
Jakarta — The Eid homecoming period is an eagerly anticipated time for many people. However, long-distance travel also carries risks, including potential road accidents.
To maintain optimal protection, vehicle owners must understand important matters to ensure insurance claims remain valid should an incident occur.
“First is complying with traffic regulations. So ensure you follow traffic rules, such as observing road signs and traffic conditions,” said Iwan in an interview with Kompas.com in Jakarta last weekend.
He explained that violations of traffic regulations can impact the claims process. If an accident occurs due to driver negligence or error, the insurance company may potentially reject the submitted claim.
In other words, compliance with regulations is not only for safety but also serves as an important factor in ensuring that insurance protection remains valid.
“Changes to vehicle accessories must also be reported. If you add a roof rack or modify lighting, these should really be reported to the insurance company,” said Iwan in a separate statement.
He added that such information is important so that the insurance company understands the current condition of the insured vehicle.
“We want to ensure modifications are correct and appropriate. God forbid there is an accident and fire due to improper lighting changes, because there are many fire incidents resulting from electrical short circuits due to improper modifications,” said Iwan.
In this way, when an accident occurs, the insurance company already has accurate data regarding the vehicle’s condition, so the claims process can run more smoothly.
In conclusion, driving discipline and transparency about vehicle condition are the key factors in ensuring that insurance claims run without problems during the Eid homecoming period.
