Jakarta, VIVA – The inactive Bima City Police Chief, Senior Commissioner (AKBP) Didik Putra Kuncoro, who has been named a suspect in a narcotics possession case, faces life imprisonment.

This was disclosed by the National Police Public Relations Division Chief, Inspector General Jhonny Edison Isir, during a press conference held at National Police Headquarters on Sunday, 15 February 2026.

“The criminal penalties include life imprisonment or a maximum of 20 years’ imprisonment, and/or a maximum fine of category 6 amounting to Rp2 billion, as well as a maximum of 5 years’ imprisonment and/or a maximum fine of category 4 amounting to Rp200 million,” said Jhonny.

Jhonny stated that AKBP DPK has been charged under Article 609 paragraph 2 letter A of Law Number 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code in conjunction with Law Number 1 of 2026 on Criminal Adjustments, and Article 62 of Law Number 5 of 1997 on Psychotropic Substances.

“AKBP DPK has been named a suspect,” Jhonny confirmed.

The suspect AKBP DPK has not yet been detained by Directorate 4 of the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim). This is because the individual is still undergoing a special placement process by the National Police Professional and Security Division (Divpropam) in connection with an ongoing ethics code proceeding.

“For AKBP DPK, the ethics code process will now proceed, with the ethics hearing scheduled for Thursday,” Jhonny explained.

Inspector General Jhonny Edison Isir revealed the chronology of how the inactive Bima City Police Chief became ensnared in the narcotics possession case. The two-star police general explained that AKBP Didik’s involvement in the drugs case originated from the arrest of two domestic helpers employed by a police officer.

“This disclosure began with the arrest of two domestic helpers of the suspect, a police officer identified as Brigadier IR and his wife, identified as AN. A total of 30.415 grammes of methamphetamine-type narcotics were found at the private residence of Brigadier IR and AN,” Jhonny explained.

Subsequently, the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Regional Police Narcotics Directorate team interrogated the suspects and discovered the involvement of Inspector (AKP) ML in the distribution of the seized methamphetamine.

“The NTB Regional Police Professional and Security Sub-division then conducted a urine test on AKP ML at Bima Regency General Hospital, with results positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine,” Jhonny said.
