Cyber threats in Indonesia are no longer merely a technical issue confined to server rooms, but a strategic challenge demanding leadership readiness at the highest level. Responding to this urgency, Ensign InfoSecurity has launched an immersive simulation workshop initiative to strengthen national cyber resilience.

In collaboration with the iCIO Community—a forum for senior technology and business leaders in Indonesia—the programme is specifically designed to equip Chief Information Officers (CIO) and technology executives with decision-making capabilities under real crisis pressure.

The programme, titled From Threat to Action: Cyber Simulation Experience, places participants in a facilitated cyber crisis scenario. Under the guidance of incident response specialists from Ensign, technology leaders undergo a simulation spanning the stages of initial breach detection, attack containment, through to recovery and stakeholder management.

The simulation challenges participants to focus not only on technical aspects, but also to consider other critical variables.

This initiative was launched amid an increasingly alarming digital security situation. Based on compiled data, several crucial points underscore the programme’s urgency. By industry sector, telecommunications is the primary target, accounting for 26 per cent of total attack traffic.

Head of Consulting at PT Ensign InfoSecurity Indonesia, Adithya Nugraputra, stressed that the most dangerous moment in a cyber crisis is when leaders must make major decisions without having ever practised beforehand. “This simulation provides an opportunity for Indonesia’s technology leaders to sharpen their response before a real attack occurs,” he said.

Echoing this, iCIO Community Partnership Division Coordinator, Benedict Sulaiman, stated that CIOs today are required to be more than just technologically literate. “This simulation places our leaders right at the heart of a crisis. This is a real experience that conventional panel discussions cannot provide,” he asserted.

Through this collaboration, Ensign and the iCIO Community hope to build a more resilient business ecosystem in Indonesia, whose leaders possess the confidence and clarity of vision to steer organisations through the storm of a cyber crisis.
