Enjoying the Sunset by Canoe in Rob-Flooded Rice Fields

It provides six canoes that can be rented for Rp20,000 per canoe with unlimited time each afternoon while enjoying the sunset. Tourists ride canoes enjoying the sunset atmosphere in the tidal flood-affected rice fields in Kandang Panjang, Pekalongan City. Besides enjoying the paddling activity, tourists are treated to a panorama of the setting sun reflecting on the surface of the water that has submerged the former rice fields. The canoe tourism in the tidal flood-affected rice fields is an example of how community creativity can transform a disaster-stricken area into an attractive destination while supporting local economic development and community-based tourism. PEKALONGAN – The tidal flooding that has long submerged rice fields in Pekalongan City is now presenting a new face. Thanks to a resident’s initiative, the area has been turned into a canoe tourism destination offering the experience of enjoying the sunset amidst the expanse of water, while also serving as an effort to revive the local community’s economy.
