Enjoy Bali's beauty
Enjoy Bali's beauty
From Bali Post
The adage, "the grass is always greener on the other side," may be applicable to daily life. One may wonder why many Balinese like to visit Jakarta, and other major cities in the country, while Bali itself offers beautiful landscape and a wonderful cultural experience.
Look at Bali's mountain ranges, beaches and terraced rice- fields; all these enchant tourists. Bali seems to have cast a magic spell on foreigners, but not on its own people. You folks, (Balinese), should be proud of what Bali has to offer, and proud of being born in Bali.
I say this with reason, I have visited almost all the provinces and stayed for some time in any number of major towns in the country but I did not come across sceneries to match Bali's beauty.
Please, bask in the extreme beauty of West Taman Bali, and the Natural Park in Pulukan, (which is managed by the regional government of Bali). Relax and enjoy the cafes alongside coastal areas. See the attractive Tanah Lot, Rambut Siwi temple and other sites.
In the village of Kapal in Tabanan regency you can visit dozens of "caves" abandoned by Japanese soldiers at the end of World War II. Each cave was used for a different purpose -- a hiding place for the soldiers, a water source, a detention house, bedrooms, and as secret passages to other locations. These sites are worth visiting to study.
As a Balinese local, I call on my fellow Balinese to be aware of these gifts, given by God for all of us to enjoy.
