Enhancing Early Detection of Liver Disease with Ultrasound Technology
FUJIFILM Indonesia supported hepatitis B and C screening at the PPHI–PGI–PEGI 2026 National Congress and Scientific Meeting in Yogyakarta by providing ultrasound (USG) equipment. The event, held on 25–26 July 2026, took place ahead of World Hepatitis Day on 28 July.
During the screening, Fujifilm provided ultrasound technology to help medical personnel evaluate participants’ liver conditions quickly, accurately and non-invasively. The device is equipped with the Shear Wave Measurement (SWM) feature, which can quantitatively measure liver stiffness to detect fibrosis caused by hepatitis B and hepatitis C without invasive procedures.
In addition, the ultrasound technology produces high-quality imaging, making it easier for doctors to see liver structures more clearly. This capability supports faster, safer and more efficient examinations, whilst also monitoring the progression of patients’ conditions.
President Director of Fujifilm Indonesia, Masato Yamamoto, said that early detection is an important step in improving the chances of treating liver disease.
“We believe that everyone has the right to access quality healthcare services. Through our support for this hepatitis B and C screening programme, we hope to raise awareness of the importance of early detection as a preventive measure, whilst helping to expand access to better health examinations for the community,” said Masato Yamamoto.
In addition to supporting the screening, Fujifilm Indonesia also introduced its HPB (Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary) Solution, an integrated solution combining ultrasound, endoscopy and mobile C-arm technology. The solution is designed to support patient care from screening, diagnosis and interventional procedures through to evaluation of liver, pancreatic and biliary diseases, including hepatitis B and C.
Director of Fujifilm Indonesia, Handra Effendi, said that demand for integrated healthcare solutions continues to grow alongside the development of medical services in Indonesia.
