English national deported from Palu

PALU, Central Sulawesi: The immigration office here deported
on Thursday an English national who has exceeded his permitted
stay.

Crispin Lancelot Gibbs left Mutiara airport for Sam Ratulangi
airport in Manado, North Sulawesi at 11 a.m. local time, flanked
by immigration officials.

Palu immigration office head Darmawan Daud said Crispin would
leave Indonesia from the North Sulawesi capital for Singapore.
Darmawan said the Englishman, whose marriage with a Poso native
has given him a 18-month-old daughter, was allowed to enter
Indonesia using a new visa.

Gibbs told reporters he would return to Indonesia as soon as
he obtained a new visa.

He held a temporary stay permit which expired on May 30, 2002
after his contract with a local ecotourism company ended. --
