Engineering firm set up

JAKARTA (JP): PT Tirtamas Majutama, a diversified business
group controlled by Hashim Djojohadikusumo, has formed a joint
venture with Onoda Engineering Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Chicibu
Onoda Corporation, Japan's largest cement producer.

The new company, to be known as PT Tirtamas Onoda Engineering,
will commence business with an authorized capital US$2 million, a
company statement said here yesterday.

The joint venture company will offer a full range of
engineering services to the fast expanding cement and building
materials sector in Indonesia and in other Asia-Pacific
countries.

The company will offer such services as feasibility studies
for new plants, design and layout preparations for plants, tender
documents, audits of existing plants to reduce power and fuel
consumption, supervisory services and environmental control
studies.

Tirtamas Onoda will offer special cement plant equipment for
the production of clinker, fuel consumption and equipment to
grind higher quality cement.(04)
