A member of Commission XII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Dewi Yustisiana, has expressed support for the synergy between the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration of the Ministry of Home Affairs, and Pertamina Patra Niaga in strengthening the validation of data for 3 kg LPG users. The synergy was marked by a cooperation agreement on the utilisation of population data, signed on Monday, 10 August 2026.

“This cooperation is an important step to ensure that the 3 kg LPG subsidy is truly received by those entitled to it. Accurate data is the main foundation so that subsidy policies can be implemented fairly, transparently, and accountably,” Dewi said in a written statement on Thursday, 13 August 2026.

According to Dewi, the integration of population data will help the government verify user identities, prevent the use of invalid or duplicate NIKs, and map the need for 3 kg LPG more precisely. In doing so, the government can reduce the potential for irregularities while maintaining the sustainability of the energy subsidy budget.

“The use of data is not to complicate matters for the public, but to ensure the state is present to protect those who truly need it. Underprivileged households, micro-business actors, targeted farmers, and targeted fishermen must continue to obtain access to 3 kg LPG easily and according to their needs,” she asserted.

Dewi reminded that data integration must be accompanied by personal data protection, system security, and access restrictions in accordance with statutory provisions. The system built must also be capable of updating data periodically so that changes in the socio-economic conditions of the community can be accommodated promptly.

She also urged that its implementation be carried out in stages and preceded by extensive socialisation. The government and Pertamina also need to provide an easily accessible complaint and data correction mechanism so that entitled citizens do not lose access due to data discrepancies.

Dewi appreciated the commitment of Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia in improving the governance of energy subsidies through strengthened cross-agency coordination. Commission XII of the DPR RI will continue to support and oversee its implementation so that the distribution of 3 kg LPG is increasingly targeted without reducing availability and ease of access for the community in need.
