Energy Saving: DPR Building Turns Off Electricity from 6 PM

The parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, consisting of the MPR/DPR/DPD RI buildings, has enforced electricity shutdowns as an effort to support the government’s energy efficiency programme.

DPR RI General Secretary Indra Iskandar stated that the shutdowns are carried out in all work rooms and meeting rooms every day at 18.00 WIB until the morning.

“The building working group will control electricity usage, including room cooling,” said Indra when confirmed on Friday (27/3/2026).

In addition, the DPR is also saving petroleum fuel (BBM) for official vehicles of officials in the DPR RI General Secretariat environment, from echelon III to echelon I.

“We are focusing on civil servants. Currently, the fuel quota is reduced by one day each week,” he said.
