Energy Ministry Commends Pertamina's Readiness to Ensure Energy Supply During Ramadan and Eid 2026
The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has praised PT Pertamina’s (Persero) readiness to maintain energy availability during the Ramadan and Eid period in 2026. This was conveyed during a visit by the Directorate General of Oil and Gas at ESDM, Laode Sulaeman, to PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Subholding Downstream Refinery Unit VI Balongan, Indramayu Regency, West Java, on Thursday, 12 March 2026.
The visit was also accompanied by the Head of the National Ramadan and Eid 2026 Command Post Erika Retnowati, Pertamina Patra Niaga President Director Mars Ega Legowo Putra, and Director of Refinery Operations Pertamina Patra Niaga Didik Bahagia. On this occasion, the government ensured Pertamina’s readiness in guaranteeing energy supply for the public during the period of increased consumption from Ramadan until Eid.
Laode Sulaeman explained that Pertamina has reactivated the Ramadan and Eid Task Force to ensure the availability and smooth distribution of fuel and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) throughout Indonesia. In addition, various additional services have been prepared to support public needs.
“The conditions for meeting needs, whether for fuel, LPG, and crude oil, are all available well. The public has no need to panic about the current situation,” said Laode.
Erika Retnowati, Head of the National Ramadan and Eid 2026 Command Post, also expressed appreciation for the measures taken by Pertamina in maintaining energy supply amid a dynamic global situation.
“I certainly appreciate Pertamina, which in an uncertain situation like now continues to make maximum efforts to be able to meet public needs,” said Erika.
Meanwhile, Mars Ega Legowo Putra, President Director of Pertamina Patra Niaga, emphasised that the condition of the national energy supply is secure. Pertamina also ensured the readiness of supporting facilities and infrastructure during the implementation of the Ramadan and Eid 2026 Task Force.
“During the Ramadan and Eid Task Force period, we are also preparing various additional services. We want to demonstrate that Pertamina is present with more friendly and warmer service to the community,” explained Ega.
He added that at numerous fuel stations, additional facilities will be provided, including several free services for the public travelling during the Eid holiday period.
In addition to activating the Task Force, Pertamina has also coordinated with various stakeholders to ensure the implementation of energy distribution runs smoothly, safely, and in a controlled manner.
“Pertamina has also established a Task Force unit on standby during the Ramadan and Eid period, both in operational areas and at refineries. Each province has a command post and contact numbers that the public can contact if there are any obstacles related to energy distribution,” said Ega.
Refinery Unit VI Balongan itself is one of Pertamina’s refineries with a high level of complexity, as shown by the Nelson Complexity Index of approximately 11.9. This refinery is capable of producing various fuel products and petrochemical products that support national energy needs.
As a company leading the energy transition, Pertamina is also committed to supporting the Net Zero Emission 2060 target and various programmes aligned with achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This effort is part of the company’s transformation, emphasising governance, public service, business sustainability, and environmental protection through the implementation of Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) principles across all business lines and operations.
