The Indelberg Energy Leadership Forum 2026 convened in Jakarta, gathering industry leaders, investors, academics, and national stakeholders to address the critical role of energy independence in determining Indonesia’s global competitiveness. Held at the Grand Ballroom of Hotel Indonesia Kempinski on Sunday (14/6), the forum was officially opened by Aryasatya Wishnutama, President Director of PT Indelberg Global Energy and the event’s initiator. Under the theme ‘Energy, Investment and National Competitiveness’, the forum served as a strategic platform to strengthen investment, drive innovation, and enhance Indonesia’s standing in the energy sector.

Aryasatya Wishnutama stated that Indonesia has a significant opportunity to become one of the most influential energy growth centres in Asia, supported by its abundant natural resources, strategic geographical position, and continuously developing human capital. ‘We are entering an era where energy is no longer merely an industrial necessity, but a strategic instrument that determines a nation’s economic strength and global position,’ he said. He stressed that a country’s success is not solely determined by the size of its resources, but by its ability to manage them effectively to create sustainable prosperity. Nations that can optimally utilise their resources, enhance public welfare, strengthen competitiveness, and maintain a long-term vision will be better prepared to face future global challenges.

Aryasatya called on all stakeholders to build a more competitive, innovative, and sustainable energy ecosystem through cross-sector collaboration. He argued that synergy between government, business, academia, investors, and the public is key to accelerating the transformation of the national energy sector. The ability to adapt to change and readiness to confront future challenges will be distinguishing factors in global competition. ‘Energy independence is a collective national agenda. When all parties can build strong collaboration, Indonesia’s foundation to become more resilient and competitive will also grow stronger,’ he said.

The forum also addressed other strategic issues, including national talent development, technological innovation, energy transition, sustainable growth, and strengthening Indonesia’s position in the global energy value chain. Aryasatya expressed optimism that Indonesia has a major opportunity to become a key player in the regional energy sector, but stressed that this potential must be realised through visionary leadership, strong collaboration, and concrete, sustainable actions. The Indelberg Energy Leadership Forum is expected to become an annual event that brings together various stakeholders to generate strategic ideas and recommendations for building a more independent, resilient, and globally competitive national energy sector.
