End of the Road for Cikarang's 'Taufik Hidayat'
A man with the initials S, who had been hunted by Bekasi Metro Police for over a week, was finally arrested in East Jakarta. He was the perpetrator of the abduction and assault of a woman with the initials TS, his girlfriend.
His actions reminded the public of Taufik Hidayat in Bandung, West Java, who held his girlfriend captive and tortured her until the victim suffered severe facial damage.
S’s actions became a talking point after a video showing TS with facial injuries in Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, West Java, went viral on social media. In the video seen by detikcom on Sunday (12 July), TS’s body was covered in bruises, and her face appeared wounded, allegedly from beatings.
TS’s condition was discovered by her family on Wednesday (8 July). The family picked the victim up from where she had been held and reported the incident to the police.
“We are currently examining witnesses,” said Chief of Criminal Investigation at Bekasi Metro Police AKBP Jerico Lavian when contacted by journalists last week.
Two days later, on Tuesday (14 July), police arrested one perpetrator with the initials HSLT. He was an employee of the perpetrator S who had helped hold the victim TS captive.
“There are two perpetrators. One has been secured, while the other is still being pursued,” Jerico told journalists.
Perpetrator Assaulted Victim Repeatedly
As the hunt for S continued, investigators revealed details about the case. S was said to have assaulted TS repeatedly.
“On 29 June 2026, the victim and the reported party were involved in a dispute. The reported party is suspected of repeatedly committing violence against the victim until 8 July 2026, resulting in the victim suffering bruises on her face and hands,” said Head of Public Relations for Metro Jaya Police Kombes Budi Hermanto to journalists on Wednesday (15 July).
Budi explained that TS only managed to escape her captivity when her boyfriend left. TS fled through a window.
“The victim and the reported party were involved in a dispute. The reported party is suspected of repeatedly committing violence against the victim until 8 July 2026,” Budi Hermanto explained on Thursday (16 July).
Budi Hermanto said S and TS had been dating since April 2025. Meanwhile, Bekasi Metro Police revealed the preliminary suspicion that the victim was held and assaulted because the perpetrator S felt jealous and accused the victim of having a relationship with another man.
“The motive was jealousy. The boyfriend accused his girlfriend of being with someone else. He was jealous, suspecting that his girlfriend was not only seeing him,” Jerico said.
Saturday (18 July) marked the end of S’s flight as the Cikarang ‘Taufik Hidayat’. He was apprehended by police officers at 01:00 WIB.
