JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The controversy over the judging in the Final of the Four Pillars MPR RI 2026 Quiz Competition at the West Kalimantan (Kalbar) provincial level has resulted in a comprehensive evaluation and an apology from the MPR RI leadership. In fact, MPR RI Chairman Ahmad Muzani has decided that the Kalbar-level Four Pillars LCC final will be repeated at a time to be determined soon. “The Quiz Competition at the West Kalimantan level, the final of which we will repeat at a time to be determined soon,” said MPR RI Chairman Ahmad Muzani during a press conference at the Parliamentary Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday (13/5/2026). However, both teams gave exactly the same answer. The participant whose answer was deemed incorrect protested, but it was not heeded by the judging panel and the host. Muzani also acknowledged deficiencies and oversights in the competition’s organisation, particularly in the final session, leading to the decision to repeat it. With this apology, Muzani stated that the Four Pillars LCC judges no longer need to issue a personal apology to the public as it has been represented by the institution. “Yes, at the MPR institution, it has already been conveyed by the Secretary General. One of our leaders has also issued an apology. So that already represents the entirety, including the judges, because this is an institutional activity, not an individual one,” said Muzani. According to him, the issues that arose during the competition were mainly due to technical constraints, including sound system problems. “No, no, no. There isn’t any. We always try to ensure that all judges have no bias, no favouritism, so what was conveyed is clear there isn’t any,” said Siti. Siti explained that the MPR has sought statements from two judges regarding the judging controversy that occurred in the Kalbar Four Pillars LCC final round.
