Encouraging the Role of DKI Regional-Owned Enterprises as Economic Pillars, DKI Jakarta Provincial Government Holds BUMD Leaders Forum
Jakarta (ANTARA) – To encourage the enhancement of the role of BUMDs as supporting economic pillars for Jakarta Global City, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government held the BUMD Leaders Forum, initiated by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Regional-Owned Enterprises Development Agency (BP BUMD) together with Bank Jakarta in Jakarta (17/4/2026).
The event, which brought together all the commissioners and directors of DKI Jakarta Provincial BUMDs, was attended by DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung, along with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Secretary Uus Kuswanto, Deputy Coordinator of the Governor’s Special Staff Yustinus Prastowo, Assistant for Economy and Finance of the Provincial Secretary Suharini Eliawati, Head of BP BUMD of DKI Jakarta Province, and several DKI Jakarta Provincial Government officials.
Under the theme “Synergy for Resilience: Strengthening the Role of BUMDs as Economic Pillars in the Jakarta Global City Ecosystem”, Governor Pramono stated that this forum serves as a space for BUMDs to align perceptions on many matters. He emphasised the importance of collaboration amid global geopolitical dynamics and pressures from climate change, such as the El Niño threat, which impacts regional economic stability.
“I hope that in the next year, BUMDs will carry out consolidation, and I am also providing opportunities because currently many Jakarta BUMDs are no longer just local players, including Bank Jakarta, PAM Jaya, Dharma Jaya, and others, and I believe this will bring many benefits to Jakarta,” said Governor Pramono.
However, Pramono reminded BUMDs to remain vigilant against natural challenges and the global situation. “But I also conveyed that the current geopolitical situation is struggling, and El Niño is expected soon from April to September this year, so I ask them to prepare for that,” he stated.
Pramono is confident that with strong consolidation and the development of a professional corporate culture, Jakarta’s BUMDs will be able to face these various challenges. “Therefore, hopefully, through BUMD consolidation and building a more open, transparent, and professionally managed corporate culture, I believe Jakarta’s BUMDs will be even more ready,” emphasised Governor Pramono.
In addition to aligning visions, the forum also addressed several strategic issues, from financing synergies through Bank Jakarta and guarantee synergies through Jamkrida Jakarta to the optimisation of BUMD assets. The Head of the BUMD Development Agency explained that the main focus of the forum is directed towards strengthening competitiveness, company health, and financing capacity for Jakarta’s development.
The Head of BP BUMD of DKI Jakarta Province explained that this forum is a continuation of the December 2025 meeting. In the 2026 BUMD Leaders event, three strategic discussion topics were raised.
“The first topic is accelerating investment performance and financial independence through creative financing and financing synergies. For the first quarter of 2026, praise be to God, a credit facility from Bank Jakarta has been signed for three BUMDs, namely PT Bank Jakarta, PT Perumda Dharma Jaya, and Food Station Tjipinang,” revealed the Head of BP BUMD of DKI Jakarta Province.
The second topic is Optimising Investment Performance and Business Development through Strategic Project Guarantee Synergies, with key discussion outcomes including project guarantees for BUMDs by PT Jamkrida Jakarta and the optimisation of Bank Jakarta credit guarantees through PT Jamkrida Jakarta.
The third topic is Enhancing the Productivity of Strategic Assets as Investment Drivers and New Revenue Stream Generators, including property development such as hotels, mixed-use housing, park & ride, as well as infrastructure development like wastewater treatment, food distribution, and processing.
As the closing of the event series, a credit agreement was signed between PAM Jaya and Bank Jakarta. Through the commitment via the Collaboration Charter, BUMDs are expected to transform into resilient, professional institutions that play an active role as the main drivers of inclusive and sustainable economic growth in Jakarta.
