Emulate the Prophet, Pradi Urges West Java Residents to Strengthen Brotherhood
The commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday is a moment to remember the Prophet not only as a leader of the faithful, but also as a noble figure who taught gentleness, compassion, honesty and love for others.
West Java DPRD member Pradi Supriatna has invited the people of West Java to make the Prophet’s birthday commemoration a momentum to bring these values into everyday life.
According to Pradi, the Prophet’s example feels particularly close to the problems facing society today. When differences easily trigger debate and information spreads so quickly, courteous, patient and respectful attitudes become increasingly important.
“The Prophet’s birthday should not just be an annual event. What is more important is how we can bring the Prophet’s character into our daily lives, starting from the family environment, the community, and into national life,” Pradi told Republika.co.id on Monday (24/8/26) afternoon.
He assessed that the Prophet Muhammad provided important lessons about how to treat others with full respect. Even when facing differences and problems, the Prophet always prioritised wisdom and compassion.
These values, Pradi said, are relevant to continue nurturing in West Java, which has a society with diverse backgrounds. Brotherhood and mutual cooperation need to become a strength for facing various social problems.
“If we continue to maintain the spirit of helping and caring for one another, problems in society will feel lighter. We must not lose our sense of humanity,” he said.
Pradi also paid special attention to the younger generation. According to him, young people today are growing up amid very rapid technological change. They need not only academic and digital skills, but also strong character.
He hopes the younger generation can come to know the Prophet Muhammad not merely through history, but by understanding the life values he exemplified.
“Young people must have big dreams, but still possess good character. Technological progress must be accompanied by a sense of responsibility and concern for others,” Pradi said.
For Pradi, the spirit of the Prophet’s birthday can ultimately be interpreted simply: becoming a better human being for those around us.
He also invited the public to make this momentum a space to strengthen bonds of friendship and rekindle a sense of care.
“May the Prophet’s birthday bring blessings and remind us to continue learning to become better, more caring, and more beneficial individuals for others,” he said.
