Employee injured in coffee shop fire at Poins Square Mall, Lebak Bulus

Jakarta South Fire and Rescue Department (Gulkarmat Jaksel) stated that a staff member sustained burns in a fire at the Poins Square Mall coffee shop in Lebak Bulus. “The victim, a staff member identified as E (36), suffered burns,” said Gulkarmat Jaksel duty officer Anwar Kamsari when contacted in Jakarta on Monday. Fifty-four personnel and 14 fire units were deployed to extinguish the fire on the second floor of the shopping centre. The cause of the fire at the Afterhour coffee shop is suspected to be a gas leak, according to Anwar. Gulkarmat Jaksel received the fire report at 7:17 PM WIB on Monday, with firefighting commencing at 7:23 PM WIB and the blaze brought under control by 7:57 PM WIB. As of now, Gulkarmat Jaksel is still assessing the estimated damages from the incident.
