Members of the National Reserve Component (Komcad) participated in the Closing Ceremony of the Basic Military Training (Latsarmil) for Civil Servants (ASN) from Ministries/Agencies Wave I at Halim Perdana Kusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta, on Friday (5/6/202_). The ceremony was attended by 1,758 participants who have been officially designated as part of the nation’s defence strength.

These 1,758 participants represent civil servants from 49 different ministries and agencies. On-site observations showed that families of the participants were present at the ceremony to welcome them home. One participant from the Pusdikes agency was seen embracing his wife and child immediately following the conclusion of the ceremony.

Emotional scenes were also witnessed as one civil servant wept while embracing his father, marking a reunion after 45 days of intensive military training. The Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (MenPAN-RB), Rini Widyantini, and the Deputy Minister of Defence, Donny Ermawan Taufanto, were present at the location to personally congratulate the civil servants upon the completion of Wave I.

The participants had previously been sworn in as members of the National Reserve Component on Wednesday (3/6). Serving as the inspector of the ceremony, Minister Rini Widyantini stated that the Komcad training is highly relevant to the professional duties of civil servants.

The Head of the National Reserve Agency of the Ministry of Defence, Lieutenant General TNI Gabriel Lema, officially designated the ASN Komcad as a vital part of the nation’s defence resources, prepared to bolster the national defence system. He emphasised that the dynamic developments in the global strategic environment present multidimensional threats, ranging from cyber attacks, hoaxes, and economic crises to radicalism, social conflict, and natural disasters.
