Emotional Moments as First Batch of Hajj Pilgrims Return to Indonesia
An atmosphere of emotion marked the return of the first flight group (kloter) of Hajj pilgrims across several regions after completing the Hajj pilgrimage for 1447 Hijri in the Holy Land.
At the Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory in Jakarta, a pilgrim was seen embracing relatives upon arrival in the early hours of Tuesday (2/6/2026). A total of 391 pilgrims in the first group of the Jakarta embarkation arrived via Soekarno-Hatta International Airport after performing their pilgrimage duties.
A similar scene unfolded at the Al-Azhom Grand Mosque in Tangerang, Banten, where family members welcomed the arrival of pilgrims with great joy. A total of 390 pilgrims from the first group of the Banten embarkation have returned to Indonesia after completing the full series of Hajj rituals.
In Indramayu Regency, West Java, family members warmly welcomed the arrival of the first group of the Kertajati embarkation at the Indramayu Pendopo. A total of 444 pilgrims from Indramayu returned to their hometowns after performing their worship in the Holy Land.
Meanwhile, expressions of gratitude were also evident among the first group of the Palembang (PLM 01) embarkation. Upon arriving at Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II International Airport in Palembang, South Sumatra, several pilgrims performed prostrations of gratitude to thank God for the smooth journey of their pilgrimage. This group included 443 pilgrims from the East Ogan Komering Ulu Regency.
The return of the first batch of Hajj pilgrims in various regions has become a deeply moving moment, reuniting pilgrims with their families after spending several weeks performing their religious duties in the Holy Land.
