Emotional Moment as General Suyudi Kneels to Kiss Mother Following Appointment as National Police Chief at the Palace
An emotional moment occurred at the State Palace following the inauguration of the National Police Chief and several cabinet members. General Suyudi Ario Seto approached his mother and knelt before her.
During the inauguration ceremony held at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Thursday (1/10/2026), President Prabowo Subianto officially appointed the new National Police Chief alongside dozens of other new officials. The ceremony commenced at 14:20 WIB and concluded at 14:55 WIB.
General Suyudi subsequently performed a command salute alongside the former National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. Both officials then provided a press statement in the inauguration room.
Shortly thereafter, Suyudi approached his mother, who was present to witness her son’s significant milestone. His mother had been in attendance since the beginning of the ceremony, seated in a wheelchair among the family members in the rear section.
Suyudi was seen kneeling on the blue carpet of the Palace, kissing and holding his mother’s hand. He then proceeded to embrace his wife and children one by one, creating a deeply moving atmosphere within the family circle.
It was also noted that President Prabowo appointed General Listyo Sigit Prabowo as the Chief of Staff to the President (KSP). Listyo Sigit succeeds General (Ret.) TNI Dudung Abdurachman, who previously held the position.
