NEW YORK (UPI): Nominations for television's 21st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards were announced on Thursday, with syndicated shows and the Public Broadcasting System rivaling the big networks.

Susan Lucci, never a winner despite 14 nominations since 1977 for her role in All My Children, was left off the list altogether this year.

CBS received the most nominations with a total of 65. Syndicated programs got 43 nominations, followed by ABC with 40, the Public Broadcasting System with 38, NBC with 13 and Fox with 12.

The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced the nominations for its annual award honoring the television industry at a ceremony in the Rainbow Room near the top of New York's Rockefeller Center.

Nominations for outstanding talk show went to Donahue, Live with Regis & Kathie Lee, The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Ricki Lacke Show, and Vicki!, all syndicated shows.

Nominated for outstanding lead actress in a drama, also known as soap opera, were two ABC performers -- Julia Barr who plays Brooke English on All My Children and Hillary B. The other nominee was Linda Dano as Felicia Gallan on NBC's Another World.
