Emirates to meet here

JAKARTA (JP): Emirates, the flag carrier of the United Arab
Emirates, announced here yesterday it will hold its three-day
annual regional conference in Jakarta starting today.

The airline said in a statement that senior managers from its
Dubai headquarters and managers from 13 stations in the West Asia
and Pacific Rim region will convene at the conference, which will
be lead by Commercial Operations Director Ghaith Al Ghaith.

Emirates started operations in the West Asia and Pacific Rim
region in October 1985, when it expanded its routes to the Indian
subcontinent. In 1990, it started operations in the Far East.

The airlines now operates a full Airbus fleet of 16 aircraft
and will operate seven Boeing-777 aircraft by June. (pwn)
