Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Japanese Embassy in Jakarta has stated that Japan is prepared to welcome the arrival of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto from 29 to 31 March 2026 to further enhance the relations already established between the two countries.
This was conveyed by Daisuke Hoshino, Director of the Japanese Centre for Information and Culture, in Jakarta on Wednesday, in response to questions regarding Prabowo’s visit during an event releasing recipients of Japanese Government scholarships organised by the Japanese Embassy.
“Japan and Indonesia share a comprehensive strategic partnership. We warmly welcome Mr Prabowo’s visit to Japan,” said Hoshino.
He noted that Indonesia is Japan’s key partner in Southeast Asia and emphasised that the two countries have broad relations spanning economic, cultural, and political domains.
According to him, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi will discuss a wide array of issues, given the numerous joint projects between the two nations.
“Therefore, we wish to use this opportunity to further strengthen the already robust relations between Japan and Indonesia,” said Hoshino.
According to the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto will undertake an official visit to Japan from 29 to 31 March 2026.
During the visit, Prabowo will participate in a State Luncheon with the Emperor of Japan and hold a meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.
