Embassy donates sports equipment

JAKARTA: The German embassy here will donate sports equipment
to children under the auspices of the Kampus Diakonia Modern
(KDM) Foundation in Bekasi, in an effort to help alleviate the
problem of street children, by providing an outlet for them.

The embassy said in its press statement on Monday that KDM,
which was set up 30 years ago, helped street children receive
accommodation, education and clothing.

It said that the German community here had been providing
assistance to the foundation for many years and the German
Children Aid Fund had been routinely paying for KDM's monthly
expenses. --JP
