'Emak Muda Bersatu' Rally Disperses Peacefully with Shalawat Chants

Jakarta - The ‘Emak Muda Bersatu’ (United Young Mothers) rally dispersed peacefully at precisely 13:15 Western Indonesia Time, accompanied by shalawat chants, after voicing their aspirations in a peaceful demonstration near the National Monument (Monas) on Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan since 10:00 WIB. Approximately one thousand young mothers, dressed in white shirts, expressed their support for President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka through banners and posters. They voiced strong backing for the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme, bringing kitchen utensils and vegetables as symbols of the initiative’s benefits for the people. Participants also staged a rose flower action as a gesture of support for President Prabowo Subianto’s pro-people programmes. In addition to taking turns delivering orations, speakers recited poetry about the benefits of the populist programmes run by the Prabowo-Gibran administration. The peaceful demonstration began at 10:00 WIB with the singing of the national anthem, ‘Indonesia Raya’. Orator Oktasari Sabil stated that the MBG programme has proven effective in combating stunting and that its benefits are already widely felt. Banners displayed messages such as mothers supporting MBG for a smart generation and backing the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision. After concluding their peaceful protest, participants dispersed and collected litter from the surrounding area. Prior to the rally, the group declared eight demands. Coordinator Dewi stated they are a collective of young mothers concerned about the future of Indonesia’s children, families, and nation. Their demands included urging the acceleration of the Free Nutritious Meals Bill into law to ensure the programme’s sustainability and legal foundation. They also demanded the swift passage of the Corruptor Asset Seizure Bill, arguing that stolen state funds must be returned to the people. The group expressed support for the Merah Putih Cooperative programme to boost the welfare of small businesses, farmers, and housewives, and backed the Sekolah Rakyat initiative to provide proper education access for underprivileged children. They called for the acceleration of national food security and strategic national projects, and appealed for national unity against provocation. The demonstrators also urged President Prabowo to evaluate and replace underperforming ministers, and voiced support for the continuation of the Prabowo-Gibran leadership to refine ongoing welfare programmes.
