Elon Musk Films Trump-Xi Meeting with 360-Degree Video

Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, was the centre of attention in China. Musk went viral for rotating 360 degrees to record the atmosphere of the meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

As reported by CBS News and CNN on Friday (15 May 2026), Musk was seen standing alongside Apple CEO Tim Cook and other US officials who accompanied Trump to China. They stood on the steps of the Great Hall of the People, Beijing, to witness the historic meeting between Trump and Xi Jinping.

Elon Musk was seen taking out his phone while standing in line. He was seen rotating while recording a video of the atmosphere in the Great Hall of the People.

Musk also drew attention for his expression when a waiter served drinks inside the meeting room. His expression during a selfie with Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun was also widely discussed by netizens.

Musk was also highlighted for bringing his son, X, to the meeting. Netizens called the CEO of the social media platform X the ‘main character’ in the event.

The Reason Trump Brought Musk and Others

Trump explained the reason for bringing US business leaders on his historic visit to China. Trump said it was an effort to make business deals and bring back jobs.

“I didn’t invite them. They all wanted to come and they’re all here. These people are here to make deals and bring back jobs,” Trump told Fox News, as reported by the BBC.

“China will invest hundreds of billions of dollars with the people in that room today,” said Trump.
