Elon Musk Boasts His Creation Is on a Par with Jesus Christ's Miracles
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Billionaire Elon Musk boasted about comparing the fruits of his labour to the miracles of Jesus Christ. He made the remarks at a forum in Israel, in connection with Neuralink’s developments.
Musk spoke about Neuralink via a video link at a forum in Israel. He argued that the technology being developed by Neuralink is underappreciated.
“Restoring control to a tetraplegic (four limbs paralysed) and restoring vision are extraordinary achievements. This is what I would call Jesus-level technology,” he said, cited by Futurism, on Thursday 21 May 2026.
Neuralink is one of several startups and companies led by Elon Musk. The world’s richest person is also CEO of SpaceX, X, Tesla, and xAI.
The technology developed by Neuralink is a brain implant. In the company’s official release, the technology has been able to enable a person to move a computer cursor using commands sent directly from the brain.
Now, Musk compares the technology to Jesus’s miracles. Some of the miracles of Jesus Christ recorded in the Bible include restoring sight to the blind, healing the paralysed, and restoring life to the dead.
Musk wants Neuralink’s technology developed to restore vision and limb movement for those who have lost those abilities. However, to date there is no evidence that Neuralink can realise that ambition.
Elon Musk has a penchant for boasting. Musk has repeatedly been caught boasting, both about his work and about trivial matters such as video games.
One example is that he claimed to be among the world’s top 20 players in the action role-playing game Diablo IV. He said this to podcaster Joe Rogan last year.
This is not the first time Musk has been accused of lying. Some time earlier, Yann LeCun, head of AI researchers at Meta, also accused him of lying about the potential for AI as intelligent as humans to emerge by 2025.
Musk is also said to have hidden the name of a researcher in a 2019 journal article. He replaced it with the name Neuralink, his own company developing Brain–Computer Interface (BCI) technology.
Another untruth told by Musk concerns Tesla’s Autopilot capabilities. His statements were exposed by his employee Ashok Elluswamy, Autopilot Software Director.
He said the advertisement released in October 2016 did not match the tagline ‘the person sitting in the driver’s seat is there for legal reasons. He is not doing anything. The car drives itself.’ This tagline was also reaffirmed by Musk in a post on X.
But Elluswamy said the Autopilot team were engineering and recording demonstrations of the system’s capabilities on his instruction. The advertisement shown merely depicted what is in the system.
