PT Elnusa Petrofin (EPN) is accelerating the restoration of operations and distribution of fuel oil (BBM) in the Reo Fuel Terminal (FT) area, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), following the 7.7 magnitude earthquake that struck the region.

Manager Corporate Communication & Relations of PT Elnusa Petrofin, Putiarsa Bagus Wibowo, said the company is prioritising personnel safety while supporting Pertamina Patra Niaga in normalising fuel distribution to communities affected by the disaster.

“Elnusa Petrofin continues to deploy its best efforts to accelerate the recovery of fuel distribution in the Reo area and its surroundings,” he said.

He explained that all measures are being carried out in a measured manner, with the security and safety of personnel remaining the top priority.

He said the main challenge in restoring fuel distribution at present is road access affected by landslides at several points.

To maintain smooth distribution, Elnusa Petrofin is optimising the readiness of personnel and tanker truck fleets, as well as adjusting operational patterns based on access conditions in the field.

Elnusa is also mobilising additional tanker crew members (AMT) from several operating areas outside NTT to strengthen operational readiness in the affected region.

In addition to personnel, Elnusa Petrofin is preparing additional fleets from several locations and coordinating an alternative supply scheme to meet fuel needs in Reo and surrounding areas.

The Ruteng-Reo route can currently be traversed by four-wheeled vehicles, but not yet by tanker trucks. Meanwhile, the Trans Marapokot-Danga route remains impassable.

The Trans Flores Ende-Bajawa route has reopened and can be used to support operational movements.

“We also continue to adjust operational patterns to field access conditions so that the community’s energy needs can be met safely and optimally again,” he said.

In addition to restoring energy distribution, Elnusa Petrofin is preparing logistical assistance for affected communities as a form of corporate concern and social responsibility.

The distribution of aid will be adjusted to community needs and access conditions to affected locations.

Elnusa Petrofin continues to monitor personnel conditions, fleet readiness, and distribution access developments, and coordinates with Pertamina Patra Niaga, local government, authorities, and relevant stakeholders to accelerate operational recovery in NTT.
