A subsidiary of PT Elnusa Tbk, PT Elnusa Petrofin (EPN), is continuing to take various steps to accelerate operational recovery at the Reo Fuel Terminal in East Nusa Tenggara following a tectonic earthquake measuring 7.7 in magnitude in the region. In the emergency response situation, Elnusa Petrofin is prioritising the security and safety of all personnel while supporting efforts to normalise Pertamina fuel distribution to the public. These efforts are being carried out amid access challenges caused by landslides on a number of distribution routes.

Manager of Corporate Communication & Relations at PT Elnusa Petrofin, Putiarsa Bagus Wibowo, affirmed that personnel safety and the continuity of energy distribution are the company’s main focus in handling the post-disaster conditions. “Elnusa Petrofin continues to deploy its best efforts to accelerate the recovery of fuel distribution in the Reo area and its surroundings. All of our measures are carried out in a measured manner while keeping personnel security and safety as the top priority. We also continue to adjust operational patterns to the access conditions in the field so that the community’s energy needs can be met safely and optimally again,” said Putiarsa, quoted from his statement on Sunday, 16 August 2026.

Elnusa Petrofin continues to optimise the readiness of personnel, tanker truck fleets, and operational patterns so that the fuel distribution recovery process can proceed gradually, measurably, and safely. Monitoring of field conditions and coordination with relevant stakeholders are also being carried out intensively to adjust distribution strategies to developments in road access.

As part of operational strengthening, Elnusa Petrofin is mobilising support tanker trucks from a number of operating areas outside East Nusa Tenggara. The presence of these support personnel is expected to maintain operational readiness while strengthening the continuity of the fuel distribution process in the affected areas. In addition to personnel support, Elnusa Petrofin is also preparing additional fleets from several locations and coordinating a supply diversion scheme to support the fulfilment of fuel needs in the Reo area and its surroundings. Recovery efforts still face distribution access challenges. The Ruteng–Reo route is currently passable by four-wheeled vehicles but cannot yet be traversed by tanker trucks.
