Eliminate corrupt mentality

A clean government that commands respect must be created
without delay because the Indonesian people, who have a deep
moral and ethical sense, have long dreamed of having one. So, all
social ills connected with the mentality of corruption and
nepotism must be cured. All these must be wiped out across the
country because they harm the nation and the state in addition to
tarnishing the country's image internationally.

Dishonesty and collusion have their origin in some people
having a corrupt and nepotistic mentality. These people, if they
continue to be allowed to go about doing as they wish, will only
tarnish the image of the state and government apparatuses and
also damage their authority. Therefore, stern and concrete steps
must be taken not only in political and economic areas but also
in legal and moral realms.

We must always bear in mind that corruption, collusion and
nepotism are now under an intense spotlight domestically and
internationally. Corruption, collusion and nepotism are the
culprits of our vulnerable economic system.

I fully agree with an idea once expressed by a Merdeka reader
to the effect that the solution to the present economic and
monetary crisis is none other than economic reform plus (namely,
pertaining to the economic, political, legal and moral realms).
This is the right path to take to improve the situation.
