Eleven fire engines extinguish fire at government residence in Jatinegara
Eleven fire engines and 55 personnel were deployed to extinguish a fire at a government residence in Cipinang Besar, Jatinegara, East Jakarta, on Sunday (31/5) evening.
Information from the East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Department (Gulkarmat) early Monday stated there were no casualties or injuries in the incident, which was reported by locals around 9:25 PM WIB.
Upon receiving the report, officers immediately proceeded to the site to fight the fire. The burning structure was identified as a government residence for the Public Cemetery (TPU).
According to on-site accounts, the incident began after the occupant finished cooking. Shortly after, residents noticed the flames growing and shouted for help.
Firefighting and cooling operations were completed by 10:15 PM WIB.
East Jakarta Gulkarmat urged the public to remain vigilant and report emergencies via the nearest fire department or Jakarta Siaga 112 for prompt handling.
