JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Content-based shopping trends are driving growth in electronic commerce transactions in Indonesia. Data from the Ministry of Trade shows that e-commerce transaction values reached Rp 96.7 trillion in February 2026, propelled by increased shopping activities through digital content. The utilisation of content and marketing campaigns is said to play a role in optimising this momentum. Executive Director of Tokopedia and TikTok Shop Indonesia, Stephanie Susilo, stated that ecosystem integration is a factor helping business actors convert content interactions into transactions. “Through an integrated ecosystem, Tokopedia and TikTok Shop help business actors turn content searches into transactions,” said Stephanie in a press release on Friday (17/4/2026). According to her, TikTok’s support in terms of discovery power and community, synergised with features, campaigns, and market insights from Tokopedia and TikTok Shop, enables brands to design more effective strategies in reaching consumers and driving sustainable business growth. One brand that recorded an increase is TCL Indonesia. The company utilised campaigns during Ramadan to meet high demand for household electronic products, particularly televisions and refrigerators. TCL Indonesia recorded a 175 percent increase in order volume and a 212 percent rise in transaction values. This brand introduced the vivo V70 Series and iQOO 15R, and conducted cross-industry collaborations. Additionally, vivo Indonesia expanded warehouse capacity in Jakarta and Surabaya and activated instant delivery services to accelerate product distribution. Head of E-Commerce at vivo Indonesia, Kevin Aditya Riyanto, stated that platform feature integration and campaigns also contributed to improved sales performance.
