The Tanjung Priok Customs Office launched the Electronic Non-Cash Guarantee Usage Initiative Programme on Wednesday (29/4/2026). This is an innovative breakthrough that shifts the conventional printed guarantee method to a fully digitised process to accelerate services.

This strategic initiative is driven by the urgency to simplify adaptive customs business processes in line with technology.

Hitherto, the use of physical guarantee documents has required manual document delivery processes that are time-consuming, costly, labour-intensive, and prone to physical risks such as damage, loss, and forgery.

Through integration into the CEISA 4.0 system, the end-to-end guarantee flow can now be sent directly by the guarantor electronically and validated by Customs in real time.

This efficiency frees service users from the three working-day physical document submission deadline, allowing the Guarantee Usage Permit process to be completed immediately upon the issuance of the Guarantee Receipt Proof (BPJ). The launch involves various strategic stakeholders to align the service ecosystem.

The presence of the Director of Revenue and Strategic Planning, heads of Regional Customs Offices (Jakarta, West Java, Banten), banking and insurance company leaders, as well as exporter and importer companies, marks solid collaboration between government and business (Business-to-Government).

Head of the Tanjung Priok Customs Office, Adhang Noegroho Adhi, emphasised that this programme aligns with the agency’s main duties and functions.

“Customs has a strategic role in supporting state revenue. Therefore, strong synergy with all parties is needed to maintain smooth logistics flow and improve service quality for service users,” he stated in a comment on Friday (8/5/2026).

In the future, the implementation of electronic non-cash guarantees is expected to have a systemic impact on Indonesia’s business climate. With services no longer dependent on physical mobility, operations of manufacturing companies and international trade will run far more effectively.

This digital transformation is projected to boost national ease of doing business indicators, while encouraging more productive and reliable economic growth.
