Electrification in ENT

JAKARTA (JP): The State Electricity Company PLN is constructing power facilities in East Nusa Tenggara to increase the number of electrified villages in the province to 909 by 1999.

The head of PLN's East Nusa Tenggara office, Alfian Helmy, was quoted by Antara as saying in the province's capital city of Kupang that the electrification program is being financially supported by the government's budget of Rp 10 billion (US$4.46 million).

He said that only 20.1 the 1,704 villages in the province have now been electrified.(31)
