Electricity tariffs per kWh this week, from 1-5 April 2026, have been set without any increase. The applicable electricity tariffs refer to the Q2-2026 electricity prices. Acting Director General of Electricity at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Tri Winarno, stated that the decision to maintain electricity tariffs was made after various considerations, particularly the current economic conditions. “This determination is carried out to safeguard the purchasing power of the public ahead of Eid al-Fitr, following calculations on various macroeconomic parameters,” Tri said in an official statement on Monday (16/3/2026). The regulation explains that electricity tariffs for non-subsidised customers are evaluated every three months. Tariff adjustments are based on several macroeconomic indicators, including the rupiah exchange rate, Indonesian Crude Price (ICP), inflation, and coal reference price (HBA). Thus, electricity tariffs are ensured to remain the same until June 2026, for both subsidised and non-subsidised customers. Prepaid customers must purchase electricity tokens before use, while postpaid customers pay bills after consumption. This policy ensures no changes to electricity tariffs in the near term. Consequently, the public can feel more at ease without worrying about electricity cost increases until mid-2026.
