Electricity Tariffs for Q2-2026 Unchanged, PLN Ensures Optimal Service
PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) or PLN’s President Director, Darmawan Prasodjo, has assured that electricity services will continue to operate optimally for all customers despite electricity tariffs for the second quarter of 2026 remaining unchanged.
Previously, the government through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) determined that PLN’s electricity tariffs for Q2-2026 would not change.
As a form of support for this policy, Darmawan emphasised that PLN is committed to maintaining the reliability of electricity supply for all customers, particularly amid the dynamics and uncertainties of global geopolitical conditions.
Darmawan also appreciated the government’s step in maintaining electricity tariff stability for Q2-2026 amid dynamic global geopolitical conditions.
According to him, this policy provides certainty for the public and the business world. Through this policy, the state demonstrates its presence in safeguarding public purchasing power and supporting national industrial competitiveness.
“The public need not worry. This determination is made to protect public purchasing power. The government also urges the public to use electricity efficiently and wisely as part of collective efforts to support national energy resilience,” he stated.
Furthermore, he explained that adjustments to electricity tariffs for non-subsidised customers are based on Ministry of ESDM Regulation No. 7 of 2024. Evaluations are conducted periodically every three months, taking into account changes in exchange rates, Indonesian Crude Price (ICP), inflation, and the coal reference price (HBA).
Although the formula indicates potential tariff changes, the government has decided to retain the electricity tariffs to maintain national economic stability amid global dynamics.
This policy also applies to subsidised customers who will continue to receive unchanged tariffs.
