Electricity Tariffs for April–June 2026 Officially Unchanged; Latest Pricing Details per kWh Released
The Government has confirmed that electricity tariffs for April, May, and June 2026 (second quarter 2026) will not increase. This policy has been implemented as a measure to protect public purchasing power ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah.
Tri Winarno, Acting Director General of Electricity at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), stated that the decision had undergone careful calculation, taking into account current economic conditions.
“The public need not worry, as the government has set electricity tariffs for the second quarter of 2026 to remain stable. This decision has been made to protect public purchasing power ahead of Eid al-Fitr,” said Tri in an official statement on Monday (16 March 2026).
Under the existing regulations, electricity tariff evaluations for 13 non-subsidised customer categories are conducted every three months. Tariff adjustments are based on several macroeconomic indicators.
In calculation terms, electricity tariffs actually had the potential for adjustment. However, the government chose to maintain rates to preserve economic stability.
This measure also aims to maintain industrial competitiveness and protect public purchasing power amid global economic dynamics.
Not only non-subsidised customers, but tariffs for 25 subsidised customer categories have also been confirmed to remain unchanged.
With this decision, electricity tariffs for the April–June 2026 period will remain unchanged across all customer categories.
For reference, PLN electricity tariffs for both prepaid and postpaid customers are based on the same rates according to power categories.
The difference is that prepaid customers must purchase electricity tokens to be entered into the meter, whilst postpaid customers pay their bill after electricity consumption in a given period.
Customer categories include residential non-subsidised customers and business and government customers.
