Acting Director General of Electricity at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Tri Winarno, stated that the decision to maintain electricity tariffs was made after considering various factors, particularly the current economic conditions. “This determination is carried out to protect the purchasing power of the public ahead of Eid al-Fitr, following calculations based on various macroeconomic parameters,” Tri said in an official statement on Monday (16/3/2026). The regulation explains that tariffs for non-subsidised customers are evaluated every three months. Tariff adjustments are based on several macroeconomic indicators, including the rupiah exchange rate, Indonesian Crude Price (ICP), inflation, and the reference coal price (HBA).
