Electricity tariff raised
Electricity tariff raised
From Media Indonesia
As a developing country, Indonesia has to upgrade the quality of its human resources. To this end, the people must keep learning to increase their knowledge. The learning process will have good results if it is supported by good illumination i.e. electricity. Electricity constitutes a basic need in modern life.
People use electricity according to their respective needs and capacities. There are people who can afford to use only 450 Watts or 900 Watts of electricity. These people must not be very wealthy and have difficulty making ends meet. So is it fair for them to be burdened by an increase of electricity tariffs? Their electricity is enough for house lighting.
They also have the rights to enjoy freedom and the 49-year old independence of Indonesia. Should their meager facilities be cut off just because they cannot pay the new tariff?
