Electricity Supply Secure During Eid, Alert Status Continues Until 31 March 2026
PT PLN (Persero) has successfully maintained the smooth running of worship and community activities during the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr (RAFI) period in 2026 with a reliable electricity supply. PLN’s President Director, Darmawan Prasodjo, stated that all personnel were on full alert to ensure stable electricity services during the Eid holiday season in 2026.
From the supply side, PLN recorded a national installed capacity of 51.37 gigawatts (GW), with a peak load of 34.77 GW. These figures indicate that power reserves remain more than adequate.
“The electricity alert status will continue until 31 March 2026, with all PLN units ensuring that the system remains safe, stable, and under control, particularly at various priority locations,” Darmawan said in a statement quoted on Tuesday (24/3).
A total of 4,429 priority locations were the focus of electricity supply safeguards during the Eid al-Fitr period, including 2,044 places of worship, 706 transport points, 439 crowded areas, 426 shopping centres, and 814 hospitals.
“Priority locations were monitored as safe and under control without any electricity disruptions. We continue to conduct intensive monitoring so that the public can carry out activities during this Eid al-Fitr moment smoothly,” he added.
From eastern Indonesia, the General Manager of PLN’s West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Regional Unit, Sri Heny Purwanti, stated that the electricity system in NTB during the Eid al-Fitr period was in prime condition.
On the Lombok system on Lombok Island, the load during prayers was recorded at 326 megawatts (MW). Meanwhile, the system’s capacity reached 380 MW with a power reserve of 54 MW.
Then, on the Tambora system on Sumbawa Island, the peak load reached 139 MW with a capacity of 188 MW. Thus, a power reserve of 49 MW was still available.
“With the available power reserves, the NTB electricity system is sufficient to meet the public’s electricity needs during the Eid al-Fitr celebrations, including during Eid prayers,” Sri said.
The same sentiment was expressed by the General Manager of PLN’s South and Central Kalimantan Distribution Unit (Kalselteng), Iwan Soelistijono. He emphasised that the electricity system in his region operated optimally during the Eid al-Fitr celebrations.
“Alhamdulillah, the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah prayers across the Kalselteng region proceeded smoothly. Our electricity system operated optimally and is still supported by adequate power reserves,” Iwan said.
This success is also reflected in the reliable electricity conditions in West Java. The General Manager of PLN’s Banten Distribution Unit, Muhammad Joharifin, stated that this achievement resulted from comprehensive preparedness since the beginning of the RAFI alert period.
“PLN has successfully maintained a reliable electricity supply from Takbiran night until the Eid prayers, so the public could perform worship safely and solemnly without obstacles,” Joharifin said.
