Electricity Infrastructure Readiness Ahead of 35th NU Congress Confirmed Safe

Ahead of the 35th Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Congress, the readiness of supporting infrastructure in the Tambakberas area, Jombang Regency, East Java, has been confirmed as safe. Independent Commissioner of PT PLN (Persero) Ali Masykur Musa inspected the readiness of electricity and telecommunications infrastructure at the Congress arena on Tuesday morning (25/8).

The inspection was carried out to ensure that power requirements and internet connectivity can be met during the 35th NU Congress, which is scheduled to be opened directly by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto.

Ali Masykur Musa said that PLN is committed to supporting energy needs to ensure that this major agenda can proceed smoothly.

“PT PLN Persero supports the electricity needs for the NU Congress event in Tambakberas, Jombang,” he said during the inspection.

In addition to ensuring electricity supply, support is also provided for connectivity. Through its subholding PLN Icon Plus, PLN has prepared telecommunications network infrastructure by installing a number of Wi-Fi points covering the Congress venue.

These facilities are expected to support the communication needs of the organising committee, participants, media, and the public attending the event.

“PT PLN also supports Wi-Fi infrastructure so that connectivity reaches the entire Congress arena, including activity areas and the pendopo or town square,” said Ali.

The infrastructure support covers a number of key points in the Tambakberas area, one of which is the Al-Amanah 2 Bahrul Ulum Islamic Boarding School.

At that location, a series of Istighatsah and Manaqib Kubro events is being held by Jam’iyyah Ahlith Thoriqoh Al-Mu’tabaroh An-Nahdliyyah (JATMAN). The activity is part of the commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday as well as a collective prayer for the smooth running and success of the 35th NU Congress.

The strengthening of electricity and internet connectivity infrastructure is part of PLN’s Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programme.

Through this support, PLN hopes that the entire series of religious activities during the Congress can proceed smoothly and comfortably. The presence of adequate infrastructure is also expected to benefit the community and support the potential development of religious tourism in the Jombang area.
