Ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah, PLN is ensuring the readiness of electricity supply at various vital facilities. Independent Commissioner of PLN, Ali Masykur Musa, conducted a direct inspection at Masjid Raya Baiturrahman in Central Java. Ali emphasised that electricity availability must be sufficient and even exceed needs, particularly to support Takbiran night activities, which mark the peak celebration for Muslims after a month of fasting. “The electricity supply must be adequate, even surplus, to welcome Takbiran night as the pinnacle of victory for Muslims after a month of fasting,” said Ali. PLN is committed to providing reliable electricity services to support public comfort in worshipping and celebrating Eid al-Fitr. To this end, the company is strengthening various infrastructures, including facilities supporting electric vehicles on strategic routes that serve as main travel paths during the Eid holiday. In collaboration with partners, PLN has provided 4,769 units of Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) spread across 3,078 locations throughout Indonesia. These facilities include various charging types, from ultra-fast charging, fast charging, medium charging to standard charging, according to the needs of electric vehicle users. Specifically to support the 2026 Eid mudik flow, PLN is also preparing 1,681 SPKLU units at 994 locations spread along main routes from Sumatra, Java, to Bali. All this infrastructure is supported by more than 5,000 personnel on standby 24 hours in three shifts to ensure optimal service. “PLN continues to enhance the readiness of electric vehicle infrastructure, especially on strategic routes that become the main paths for the public during long holidays. This is part of our commitment to accelerating the electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia,” said Ali. This step also affirms PLN’s role as the main pillar of national energy provision in supporting public mobility during Eid. The readiness of electricity and electric vehicle infrastructure is deemed crucial to ensure smooth mudik flow while accelerating the transition to clean energy in Indonesia.
