Electrical Switch Explosion Causes House Fire in Bogor's Sempur Kaler

A house on Jalan Sempur Kaler in Bogor Tengah District, West Java, caught fire after an electrical switch exploded. According to M Ade Nugraha, Head of the Firefighting and Rescue Division at Bogor City Fire Department, a witness reported hearing an electrical short-circuit explosion while preparing to shower. The incident occurred at around 15:05 WIB on Saturday (30 May 2026). Upon inspection, the homeowner discovered the explosion originated from the electrical switch. Attempts to switch it off and on caused smoke and ignited the fire. Residents alerted fire service personnel, who arrived within ten minutes and extinguished the flames in under half an hour. No casualties were reported, with total losses estimated at Rp500 million.
