Electric Vehicles Hit the Streets of the Capital, Exempt from Vehicle Tax and Odd-Even Rule
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has emphasised that it will continue to maintain fiscal incentives in the form of exemptions from Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB) and Motor Vehicle Ownership Transfer Tax (BBNKB) for battery-based electric motor vehicles. In addition, the policy exempting electric vehicles from the odd-even rule remains in effect. This policy aligns with Circular Letter No. 900.1.13.1/3764/SJ from the Minister of Home Affairs regarding the provision of fiscal incentives in the form of PKB and BBNKB exemptions for battery-based electric motor vehicles. Thus, the direction of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government’s policy remains consistent in supporting the development of environmentally friendly vehicles and accelerating the transition to clean energy. The Head of the DKI Jakarta Regional Revenue Agency, Lusiana Herawati, explained that the fiscal incentive policy for electric vehicles in Jakarta still refers to the direction of the central government’s policy. Meanwhile, the Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, stated that the policy exempting electric vehicles from the odd-even rule will also be maintained as part of support for the use of low-emission vehicles. With this policy, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is committed to continuing to support the clean energy transition through incentives that align with national policy, while also maintaining the sustainability of more environmentally friendly urban transportation development.
