JAKARTA – The contribution of electric vehicles to Indomobil Group’s sales can no longer be considered minor. With the strengthening trend of electrification, sales of electric vehicles have even taken a significant share in the company’s business. Indomobil now has an increasingly diverse portfolio of electric vehicle brands, ranging from Changan, Citroën, GAC Aion, JAC Motors, to Maxus. Major names such as Kia, Nissan, Mercedes-Benz, and Volkswagen now also enliven the electric vehicle line under Indomobil’s umbrella. Chief Executive Officer of Indomobil Dealership Group, Santiko Wardoyo, stated that electric vehicle sales have exceeded expectations. This achievement shows that the shift from conventional engine vehicles to electric ones is increasingly real, not only at the global level but also in the domestic market. This surge in contribution aligns with the growth of the national electric vehicle market. This achievement has increased electric vehicle sales by 95.9 percent compared to the same period last year. The market share has also risen to around 15.9 percent of total national automotive sales. On the other hand, the market is becoming increasingly competitive with the presence of various new players. BYD, for example, once dominated the market at the end of 2023 through models like the Atto 3. Indomobil has also entered the affordable electric vehicle segment through the Changan Lumin. With a contribution exceeding more than 50 percent, electric vehicles are no longer just a complement for Indomobil, but have become the new backbone in business growth amid the transition era towards environmentally friendly vehicles.
