Electric Car Price Update April 2026: Jaecoo Raises J5 EV Price

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) has officially adjusted the prices for its latest electric vehicle lineup, the Jaecoo J5 EV. This compact SUV-style electric vehicle (EV) has seen a price increase starting in April 2026.

Based on the latest data received, the Jaecoo J5 EV is now offered in two main variants with revised price tags. The Standard variant, as the entry-level model, is now marketed at Rp 279.9 million, while the top variant, J5 EV Premium, reaches Rp 309.9 million.

This increase is considered significant, given Jaecoo’s initially aggressive pricing strategy in the domestic market. Nevertheless, the J5 EV remains an attractive option for consumers seeking an electric car with a modern design and robust safety features.

Technically, there are no changes to the powertrain. The Jaecoo J5 EV still features an electric motor that delivers instant power to the front wheels. Its battery capacity is claimed to still provide a competitive range for daily urban use or inter-city travel.

For prospective buyers, this moment serves as a reminder that electric vehicle price dynamics are heavily dependent on incentive policies, logistics costs, and exchange rate fluctuations. Despite the rise, Jaecoo continues to equip the J5 EV with a battery warranty and after-sales services that meet Chery Group’s standards in the country.
