JAKARTA – The used electric and hybrid car market at auction houses is beginning to show interesting developments in the first quarter of 2026. Several electrified vehicle models from various well-known brands are now dominating the list of the most auctioned cars at JBA Indonesia.

Chief Operating Officer of JBA Indonesia, Deny Gunawan, stated that the trend of electrified vehicles in the used car market is becoming increasingly active compared to the previous year.

“In the first quarter of 2026, auctions of electric vehicles at JBA Indonesia were dominated by several models from various brands already known in the Indonesian market,” said Deny to Kompas.com (13/5/2026).

Some of them include the Wuling Air ev Long Range and Lite variants, Wuling BinguoEV, Wuling Cloud EV, Hyundai IONIQ 5, BYD M6, Chery Omoda E5, Tesla Model 3, and Volvo C40 Recharge.

Meanwhile, in the hybrid segment, the models entering the auction market are also quite diverse. From more affordable hybrid cars like the MG VS HEV and Wuling Almaz RS Hybrid, to popular family models like the Toyota Kijang Innova Zenix Hybrid and Toyota Corolla Altis Hybrid.

According to Deny, although the contribution of electrified vehicles to the overall auction business is still small, consumer interest continues to grow, especially in the Jakarta area.

“The contribution of electric and hybrid cars to JBA Indonesia’s auction business is still below 5 percent. Nevertheless, there are always enthusiasts for hybrid and electric cars, particularly in the Jakarta area,” said Deny.

“In this first quarter of 2026, the contribution of electric and hybrid cars has increased by up to 7 percent compared to the first quarter of 2025,” added Deny.

This condition indicates that the used electric and hybrid car market is starting to form in Indonesia.

With an increasing number of model choices, combined with more competitive prices at auction houses, second-hand electrified vehicles are gradually beginning to attract consumer attention.
