Election of legislators

I propose to members of the People's Consultative Assembly
(MPR) and the House of Representative (DPR) that they implement a
direct election not only for the presidential and vice
presidential positions but also for the positions of legislators
at both the regional and central government levels. The election
should be carried out in phases so that people can guarantee the
honesty and the quality of all city assembly and MPR/DPR members
as their services and dedication to the society, the government
and the country have been recognized.

People will, of course, select the best legislators as well as
president and vice president for the nation and the state of the
Republic of Indonesia, the country which is based on the
Pancasila state philosophy and the 1945 Constitution.

The directly-elected people's representatives will not
contemplate or implement any action detrimental to the country's
development and unity

Also, I propose that article 30 of the 1945 Constitution be
put into effect immediately so that the spirit to defend the
country can be inculcated starting from kindergarten up to
university, where the military training requirement could also be
implemented. Therefore, the commitment to uphold strong
patriotism, nationalism and discipline among the country's
citizens can also be maintained.

All MPR/DPR members have vowed to defend the 1945
Constitution, Pancasila and the unitary state of the Republic of
Indonesia. They, hopefully, will be able to always keep their
promise.
