Elderly Woman Tied Up and Robbed at Knifepoint in East Jakarta Home

An elderly woman was tied up and robbed at knifepoint in her home in the Pisangan area of Cakung, East Jakarta, on Sunday afternoon. The victim, identified by the initial H, 61, was preparing to perform the midday prayer when the perpetrator entered her house. According to police, the victim initially thought the person entering was her child and called out to them. The perpetrator then threatened her with a machete, covered her mouth with brown tape, and bound her hands and feet. The suspect made off with a pair of gold earrings weighing approximately one gram, a Samsung A07 mobile phone, and around Rp600,000 in cash. The victim was left tied up before eventually being found and receiving help. The Cakung Police are currently pursuing the perpetrator and investigating the case, which has been recorded as a violent theft. Authorities have reminded the public, particularly elderly residents living alone, to be more cautious and to report any information that could assist in the investigation.
