Elderly Man in Karawang Arrested for Raping His 14-Year-Old Daughter

Police have arrested a 62-year-old man, identified by the initial C, for allegedly raping his 14-year-old biological daughter in Banyusari District, Karawang Regency, West Java.

Kasi Humas Polres Karawang Ipda Cep Wildan confirmed the arrest, stating that the suspect is now in custody to face legal proceedings.

“We have detained C, a 62-year-old man, on suspicion of committing sexual intercourse with his own child,” Wildan told reporters on Tuesday (16/6/2026).

The reprehensible act was uncovered after the victim’s mother filed a report with the Karawang Police on Monday (15/6). The mother was outraged and could not accept that her child had allegedly become a victim of sexual violence perpetrated by her own husband.

Based on the mother’s account, the incident is believed to have occurred in March 2026 at around 10:00 p.m. Western Indonesia Time.

The suspect now faces severe legal consequences. He has been charged under Article 473 paragraph (9) in conjunction with Article 473 paragraph (4) in conjunction with Article 473 paragraph (2) letter b of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code, which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.
